![]() ![]() As you’ll know if you are reading this review, they are very mixed. I had read numerous reviews before I booked, and decided to give the Avanti the benefit of the doubt. We booked this hotel as part of a package holiday through TUI. Staff good also except security man in receipton was rude to my husband when he was getting changed for the airport to go home in reception bathroom as we had to check out by 11am we got changed for airport in reception bathroom and the security man came in the bathroom shouting to my husband “you’ve been in here a while and been rude asking if he’s a guest here” i then told the security man we are guests of 2 weeks my husband was upset at his tone he used towards him with a attitude other than that all great will stay here again for the price Downside our wedding never got changed once in 2 weeks … Had a issue checking in took 30 mins to check in as they couldn’t find my booking but they upgraded us to a better room for free with a hot tub which was nice. Just got back stayed here 2 weeks perfect location, pool great, only down side was we stayed 2 weeks and the house keeping made the bed every 2-3 days days but never put clean bedding on once in the 2 weeks I think it would been nice to clean the wedding least once per week.It doesn't have the wow factor, but it has all you need and it is what you make it. Overall, I would say we had a fantastic stay at the Avanti and would recommend to families on a budget wanting a base. Highly recommend Hooters, Millers Ale House and Uno pizzeria. It is a safe area with Icon Park just across the road. Within minutes walk you have choices of restaurants, bars, a walgreens supermarket and crazy golf. However getting to the other parks and Typhoon Lagoon needed a short walk and bus change (which is hard in the heat!) Location - You can't ask for a better p I Drive location. Getting to Magic Kingdom and Epcot was very easy (direct 25 minute bus). Miss Tracey, the driver, was a great lady and very efficient. The Disney shuttles are bookable on an app which you had to remember to do in time or miss the 25 places available. ![]() We often opted for an uber to avoid the mad rush and choice language from other guests (not Avanti guests) An uber was only around $10. There needs to be a better queue system in place at Universal so its first come first served. As you cannot prebook your return it is a bit of a nightmare getting home with people pushing to get on the bus. The universal bus driver then checked names off and let you onboard. Shuttle transfers - You had to prebook Universal shuttles the day before in reception which was easy to do. If there was a chance of a storm the manager made sure everyone was out of the pool. The DJ on Saturdays was a hit with music and games. The pool towels were re-stocked and free water was available near the bar. The pool area was clean, relaxing and welcoming. Pool area - You had to use your room key to access it and we always found a sunbed at different times of the day. It would be good to have somewhere to dry wet swimwear as you are not allowed to hang items on the railings. We had a problem with our safe not opening one morning and a quick call to reception and a handyman came to fix it within an hour. During our stay the room was cleaned every day which included beds being made, fresh bath and hand towels, bin empty and a general sweep. We looked out onto the shuttle bus area and although it could be quite busy/noisy we never felt unsafe or saw any trouble. ![]() We didn't have it on at night as it was quite noisy. The air conditioning was lovely to return to after a day out and did its job. Upon check in we were given room 1203 (block 1) and were pleasantly surprised to find it clean, spacious and inviting. I was very worried about the reviews before travelling and had contacted the hotel to request a quiet refurbished room. Just returned from a 2 week stay here at the Avanti.
